Stargazing

All of our children gazed at the stars last week in a planetarium borrowed from the Teacher Science Network (TSN).

It looks like a big, blue igloo, but it is actually an inflatable planetarium and all the children had sessions in there last week.

Led by Mr Boast, the children were talked through the stars of the Northern Hemisphere, considering the impact of light pollution, where the North Star appears in our sky, how and why stars move across our sky each night and some different stories about constellations. A particular favourite for many children was Perseus holding his sword aloft in triumph, having defeated Medusa!

We hope they came home enthused and told you all about it.
